Faith and Caregiving

For caregivers whose faith is part of how they cope — and those it is not.

4 min readReviewed 9/4/2026

Faith can be a well and it can be a weight. Both are okay. For many caregivers, prayer, scripture, or a house of worship anchor them through long days. For others, faith feels distant right now, or hard, or gone. That is not a failing. Ask your clergy for a home visit — most will come. If your faith community is not showing up, tell one leader plainly what you need. If faith is not your language, find your own well: music, walks, or a friend who listens.

Checklist

  • Name the well you draw from — faith, nature, music, people
  • Ask your clergy for a home visit
  • Tell one person in your community what you need
